When I try to install the newest Google Earth, the process aborts with 0x80070005. Also, when I try to open Component Services either via menu or command, the CS window begins to paint but the process hangs before the window finishes painting all the buttons, leaving a half-transparent window. CS can then only be closed from Task Manager. I have tried the fix listed in KB313222 with no effect. Running Accesschk gives "Invalid account name: nt service\trustedinstaller" XP Professional, current service and fixes, Thinkpad A31 with 1GB memory.
